Maureen “Mo” Bruno Roy graduated from the renowned Muscular Therapy Institute in Boston, in 1998. With over 900 hours of instruction in Ben Benjamin’s technique, called Muscular Therapy (a combination of Swedish, shiatsu, deep tissue therapies and self-care techniques) as well as having completed over 500+ hours of advanced certification training, Maureen specializes in Sports Massage, Deep Tissue, Prenatal Massage, Thai Yoga Massage and Orthopedic Massage techniques including post-op orthopedic recovery. Maureen has been working as a professional massage therapist for 20+ years, holds a MA State license, is Board Certified and a professional member of the AMTA. She works with many amateur and professional athletes, injury and illness rehabilitation and individuals with chronic stress, tension or pain and women in all stages of pregnancy. Each session begins with detailed questions and dialogue prior to the massage to develop a customized treatment plan to meet the goals of the client.
Mo began practicing yoga in 2001 with Ashtanga and fell in love with the practice of linking the breath with vigorous asana. Being a competitive cyclist, her practice evolved to include more Vinyasa flow styles and Yin yoga to compliment the intensity of year-round training and racing. Mo completed her 200-hour yoga teacher training through Boston Yoga School in 2014, Yin Yoga teacher training with Josh Summers in 2012 and Prenatal Yoga training with Barrett Reinhorn in 2015.
In addition to being a bodyworker + yoga teacher, Mo has been an Elite cyclist competing Internationally in cyclocross from 2003-2015. She was a member of the USA World Championship Team in 2006 and 2010 and competed in 16 World Cup races. She is the 2013 + 2014 USA Single Speed National Champion and 2014 Single Speed World Champion. She lives in Arlington, MA with her husband and their two cats, Pippin + Merry.
